Nashville (Tenn.) Montgomery Bell Academy top-247 offensive tackle Alex Bars made his college commitment on Friday.
Alex Bars is commit No. 10 for Notre Dame in 2014, and the eighth four-star prospect.
“I have officially committed to the University of Notre Dame,” Bars announced.
The 6-6, 287-pound Bars chose the Irish over offers from the likes of Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina and Stanford.
Bars is the 10th commit for Notre Dame in the class of 2014 and the fourth offensive linemen, joining fellow 247 Composite four-stars Quenton Nelson, Sam Mustipher and Jimmy Byrne.
Ranked by the 247 Composite as the nation’s No. 9 offensive tackle and No. 92 overall prospect, Bars makes eight four-star commits overall for head coach Brian Kelly and the Irish.
Bars’ father Joe played at Notre Dame. His oldest brother Brad played at Penn State and his other brother Blake plays at Michigan.
Bars visited Notre Dame on March 23 for junior day.
