NFL Combine Coverage: Day 5

Former Irish defensive end Stephon Tuitt will not participate in NFL Combine activities due to a stress fracture in his left foot.

Media interviews concluded yesterday. Today, defensive linemen and linebackers will participate in on-field activities, while defensive backs complete the bench press portion of the combine.

For those who missed it last night, former Irish defensive end Stephon Tuitt will sit out the remainder of the event in Indianapolis due to a stress fracture in his left foot. He was not cleared by doctors to participate in the combine and is expected to undergo surgery next week.

5:37 p.m. — Bennett Jackson posted 13 reps during the bench press portion of the NFL Combine.

3:55 p.m. — Prince Shembo finished tied for fourth among linebackers in the vertical jump (38.5) and tied for fifth in the broad jump (10.2). His three-cone time was 7.29.

2:11 p.m. — Prince Shembo’s first unofficial 40: 4.67 seconds. 10-yard split of 1.62. In his second, he posted a 4.62. Strong numbers for him.

11:48 a.m. — Louis Nix’s second unofficial 40 run: 5.37 seconds. 10-yard split of 1.87.

11:27 a.m. — Louis Nix’s first unofficial 40 run: 5.35 seconds. 10-yard split of 1.85.

10:00 a.m. — Former Irish defensive end and USF transfer Aaron Lynch did not participate in the 40-yard dash.

9:40 a.m. — Former South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney ran a 4.49 and 4.48 in his two 40-yard dash times, a phenomenal time for a defensive lineman. Former Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald ran a 4.66 at 285 pounds.
