Most of the attention was around Junior Day news after Notre Dame hosted a few dozen recruits on Saturday, but Ramsey, N.J., wide receiver Leonte Carroo received some good news in the meantime - an Irish offer.
"Yes, it's true. Notre Dame offered," Carroo's mother, Lavern, confirmed with BlueandGold.com via text.
The 6-2, 195-pound Don Bosco Prep player lists offers from Boston College, Michigan, North Carolina, Pitt, Rutgers, Virginia, Wisconsin and others.
Carroo participated in a 7-on-7 tournament earlier in the day, and received positive reviews from 247Sports national recruiting analysts Gerry Hamilton and JC Shurburtt.
Here's the feedback on the New Jersey native from the [link url="http://footballrecruiting.247sports.com/Article/Best-of-Badger-Jersey-7-on-7-16621"]Best of Badger Jersey 7-on-7 breakdown:
Caroo is a thickly-built receiver prospect with good hands that has enough explosiveness to make big plays happen. Physically, he’s a hand full for a smaller defensive back.
Following the event, Carroo's mother informed us that he was headed to basketball practice, so we're looking to follow up with Notre Dame's newest offer later for comments.
