Everett Golson and the Irish cannot afford to leave as many points on the field against Alabama.

Two dominant defenses and two balances offenses. Thus, special teams, turnovers and red-zone play could prove to be some of the differences.

Did a little research on Bama's run D stats. Only giving up 79 yds per game is a heck of a stat. But teams who beat them or almost beat them were able to run the ball with some success:
A&M had 165 yards
UGA had 125 yards
LSU had 139 yards
Yards per carry were all under 4, but they stuck with it.
Flip side to maybe skew the numbers a little:
Western Carolina had 70 yards
Western Kentucky had 46
Fla. Atlantic had 76
No matter what, this will be a great game won in the trenches. It will be a hard hitting, physical game. Bama may be the best overall team ND will play all year. But I also think that ND is the best team Bama will have played as well.

u can toss all the stats away. and bamas web site has more hot air in it than a weather balloon. they totally disrespect us. i wish the game was tomorrow, these guys think the civil war is still going on, and they deserve a good spanking......
