The Notre Dame backcourt tandem of seniors Eric Atkins and Jerian Grant has been invited to the 2013 USA Basketball Men's World University Games Team training camp, the organization announced Monday, which will take place June 24-30 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
From a group of 29 invitees, a team of 12 players coached by Michigan’s John Beilein, South Carolina’s Frank Martin, Colorado’s Tad Boyle, Jim Kessler of NAIA program Grace College (Mich.) and Elon’s Matt Matheny, will be selected to participate in the World University Games in Russia in July.
Former Fighting Irish forward Tim Abromaitis is the last to represent Notre Dame on a USA Basketball squad in 2011, when the WUG were held in China.
