Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees has started 18 games at Notre Dame, but never a season opener. Rees said being the No. 1 guy during the summer and heading into training camp has allowed him to grow more as a leader. He and his teammates said he was more demonstrative during the seven-on-seven captains’ practices during the past couple months.
Rees and several other Irish player met with the media Sunday afternoon before kicking off fall camp Monday morning in Marion, Ind. Rees talked about his leadership role, his relationship with absent Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson and what he thinks of the receiving corps this year.
