Timely topic. Along with the 2009 Washington, the one at BC where we stopped Mike Cloud on 4th down up 5, rank up there. Since we were there, Saturday's would be tops for me. In OT, against a ranked team known for their power running game, putting us in the top 5.

in the 1949 game against smu the irish made a goal line stand at the end of the game.the win gave nd their 3rd nc in 4 yrs.

Yeah, the Ivory covington vs Army was RELIEVING. We're also sure to see the name Deke Cooper tomorrow.
The USC stand vs Keyshawn in 1995 seemed like an endless sequence of fades, as if they were just going to keep being awarded another down until they finally succeed with a completion. Wooden was money in that series.

no i was seven yrs old. heard it on the radio joe boland doing the play by play. my dad was a holy cross fan but i was always an irish fan.one of the first words i ever said was lujack

Lou...didnt nd have to make 2 stands in that 09 UW game ? I thought there was a penalty on 3rd down so uw got a fresh set of downs inside the 5?? I think nd had 7 plays without allowing a td there??

We'll get to that second goal-line stand against Washington soon enough. That's what made it so amazing. There already was one earlier in the game.

There wasn't a goal-line stand in that 1980 Alabama game won 7-0 by ND. In the fourth quarter, Alabama was stopped on 4th-and-2 from the Irish 37 on one possession and 4th-and-1 from the ND 35 on another.

The goal line stand vs USC in 1995 was nothing compared to Kinnon Tatum's tackle inside the 5 yd line which caused a fumble recovered by Bertrand Berry. Tatum leapt over the center at the snap and while still in midair punished the SC back as he received the hand off causing the fumble.
