Former Notre Dame defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore said the rehab for his torn anterior cruciate ligament is off to a good start during an interview at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this weekend.
Lewis-Moore injured his knee during the national championship loss to Alabama in early January. He said he is three weeks removed from surgery and will probably need another six to seven months before he is back to full speed. Lewis-Moore said he came to the combine event to interview with teams.
"It was pretty bad timing," he said. "At first I was really disappointed about it, but one of the main things is you have to have a really good attitude when going through this healing process. So, I've been trying to have a good attitude about it and hopefully the teams can really see what I did on the field this year."
The Texas native checked in at 6-foot-3.5-inches and 298 pounds at his official weigh-in. During the interview, he also discussed his role as a team leader and what it means to have seven other Irish teammates at the Combine with him this week.
