I heard there is Turfix at the stadium. Any info? New turf field this year?

They are installing the turf grass on the areas around the field that used to be asphalt. Safer for the players and easier to maintain. The field will remain natural grass. This was tweeted earlier this week by Brian Hardin, ND's SID for football.

They will eventually have the turf like the Packers have at Lambeau but that may be another year or 2

A Notre Dame staff member had tweeted a pic of packaging for synthetic turf for ND Stadium, and Hardin clarified with...
"Turf will replace asphalt track that surrounds field & also go into bench areas, eliminating use of tarps. Field is natural grass."
