Danbury,
The longest overall winning streak in the program's history is 22, which dates back to the 1908-09 season.
The one in 1953-54 that advanced to the Elite 8 won 18 in a row, the last against No. 1 and defending national champ Indiana, before losing to Penn State.
Since then, the longest winning streak has been 12, both during the 1973-74 season: 12-0 start, highlighted by ending UCLA's 88-game winning streak to move to No. 1, and then 12 more wins to improve to 24-1 before losing the regular season finale at Dayton.

Danbury,
I refuse to get greedy.
Win the last 3 regular season games, the three in the Big East tourney after the double bye, and then 6 in the NCAA Tournament, that would leave you with 21 straight, one short of the school record.
I'll swap you that for losing the first game next season to fall short of the record.
Realistically, 10 is a nice, round figure to shoot for. The next objective for this program is to thrive in March.
Two goals to shoot for are 1) Playing in MSG on Saturday night for the Big East title, which the program has never done, and 2) Advance to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA, which would be only the fifth time since 1959 the program would have won back-to-back games in the Big Dance.

Lou, I'm beginning to believe that Atkins/Grant will bring ND a BE championship before they leave. Especially with next year being 'Cuse final year in the conference. Brey's never had the athletic backcourt you need to advance in March until now.

True Ham. Don't you also see a little bit of Martin's defensive/rebounding tenacity in Conaughton? If he can learn to take a charge like Scott, I can see him stepping into that role when #14 leaves w/little to no drop off.
