You have no favorite boards.
This team is going to really struggle on D, and even more so on defensive rebounding. Big East teams are going to pound the offensive boards. If you missed the games, here are some impressions
Abro is still a very good player. He needs, in my opinion, screens when he is not hitting his shots.
Grant is going to be very good. Not surprised because I saw him in a HS tournament, he played in a great
program and against excellent competition.
Adkins looked much better tonight, but he still looks a little off compared to last year. It probably is that he has a different cast and more is needed for him to do this year..
Cooley does not look like he has improved from last year. Actually, he has looked worse, but it is early in the season.
Martin has looked like last year as well. Just a complimentary player who has too many off nights and can't hit open jumpers. As a senior, he needs to step up, but it doesn't look like he can.
Connaughton has a lot of moxie and will be a good player for ND.
Brooks won't do much, but will have some good games.
Dragicevich - forget it
It's early and teams can improve tremendously from the beginning of the season to the start of league, but this team is very limited defensively, and rebounding wise, The main improvment will probably come on offense. For this team to do be decent, Martin and Cooley would need to have tremendous years to go with Adkins, Grant, and Abro. Connaughton will be a solid player in his role. He has skills and smarts, but doesn't have to carry the team the way seniors, and guards must. And, the way Cooley must as the only real big man.

Most disappointed in Martin. Brey built up his game and we have never really seen any semblence of a player that can put a team on his back.
Abro won't have to many nights like this. He better not.
Atkins looks like the pressure of replacing Hansbrough might be affecting him.
Brooks offers nothing and has never seemed comfortable on the floor.
Cooley must improve down low and at least give the appearance that he can score in the post.
Frosh look good and might give us hope, but a Big East season can wear a young player down so I don;t know how much they will give us.
Brey has no faith in Knight and Hammer and I doubt they will contribute significantly.
Despite losing alot of basketball talent off last years team, an overlooked loss is also the leadership and steadying influences those seniors gave us.
I would like any of you to workout every day that you have the flu and then have a group of personal trainers critique your performance. Atkins had the flu last week - get off his back. If he was on for the Missou game it would have been very different. He could not keep up with Cooley if he had to that night. And last night if Abro shot even 30% from the arc we would have been up by 9 at the half.
Not sure why Dragevitch was playing so much last night - Did Brooks get a little of the bug?
