Wow. Heck of a comeback by Miami (Ohio). I have to admit that I thought Mike Haywood would have been in over his head, even in the MAC. But he's on the verge of a conference championship here in just his second season. Could go from 1 win last season to 9 wins this season, if Miami hangs on.
Pretty good game for a Friday night. Nice win by Miami. Good win for Haywood in his young head coaching career.
Absolutely, John. Haywood may now find his stock on the rise in the coaching market.
I may not be pretty, but I'm fast.....

Did you see the highlight of his pregame speech in the locker room? I didn't know he had that in him. Charlie Weis obviously misused him by putting him upstairs on Saturdays rather than on the sidelines.
Needless to say, his pedigree (Nick Saban, Mack Brown and even Weis with regard to learning another offensive scheme, including a season under Holtz as a player) seems to be serving him well now that he's on his own.
Honestly, I didn't think he had it in him either. In his last two years here, he looked like one beaten down man, and, with all due respect, I was surprised he got the job at Miami. Great for him! Sometimes a change of scenery is therapeutic. His turnaround this season ranks among the finest in college football annals.

He probably should have been ND's head coach, and CW the Offensive Coordinator.
Good for MH. He however had a fubar moment just before half. It was fourth down and he told his QB to spike it to stop the clock. A WR bailed him out and called a TO instead. They got to attempt a FG instead of turning over on downs. He is learning, and with this turn around, very well obviously.
