Neither Keil or Golson is a pure runner. I don't understand why it is so hard to understand that this is going to be a pass first offense when it is fully implemented. The read option will be used to 'keep them honest' only... we aren't going to be UofM where the most dangerous guy on our team is the QB who can run. Take a look at the QB's offered right now and you will see most are rated as 'Pro Style', not 'Dual'.

I absolutely agree with Neal... get this guy into the fold as quickly as possible. Touching it 10 times on offense? Probably not because we have a lot more guys in that position with experience to spread the touches around. Riddick looked nearly as dangerous in his HS films as Neal, and I really hope he pulls his head out of his a$$ and figures it out this year like Gray did last year.

But, it truly pains me to say this, to get any of the slot/RB/WR into the game, we need a QB who can make the appropriate read pre-snap. I am sorry to say that the only guy who could do that last season didn't have the physical skills to excel in this offense. I really hope that Golson has picked it up by this season, but Keil ran something similar in his HS and might be ready to go this year.

We dumbed down the offense last year to fit a QB who didn't fully fit the system, and we looked bad a lot of the times. I agree we need to get a QB in who can challenge the defense with his 'scrambling', but if they can't make the reads, then it will basically be robbing Peter to pay Paul.

+1 for you for your obvious passion. I agree that we can't spin our wheels in the same direction we did last year, I just don't expect that everything is going to fall into place if we get a 'running QB' back there.
