  • "Expected back" is the most comfortable words for this situation.

  • After you spent the morning spreading rumors to the contrary. At least we now know information derived from your posts is more than likely false.

  • Slaughter at CB so Motta and Shumate can play S is an interesting thought..

  • Or Collinsworth at safety, why do so many of you insist on inserting recruits into the starting lineup that are still in high school.

Yeah seriously... especially at safety. And especially for a HS LB.
I feel extremely confident in saying that Shumate will not come close to starting this coming year for the Irish. Depending on where Badger is and on how Shumate fares on special teams, he could even be redshirted.

  • I thought Slaughter was a good person to move since we seem to have more safeties and could spare using one at coenerback...new corner and good safety on one side...good cornerback and new safety on the other..seems like the right mix..

  • Collinsworth has earned a serious look in the defensive backfield. He was an animal on special teams last year. I cant wait to see him bring that intensity to the defense. I have a feeling we will not miss Smith AS MUCH AS we thought we were going to.

Truer words have never been spoken.

A few days off isn't going to fix this.

  • Slaughter is unlikely to cornerback in anything but an emergency situation. Kelly and Elliott did both say that this wouldn't even be an option if Collinsworth wasn't stepping up.

Elliott said both Motta and Collinsworth are making major leaps in the mental aspect of playing safety. We'll have a more in-depth breakdown of the safeties on the home page tomorrow.

  • Aaron is by no way lacking in gray matter.
A transfer would delay his pro career by a year.
Option #1: Play 2 years with the Irish and go pro.
Option #2: transfer, sit a year, play two and then go Pro.
Option #1 makes the only sense.
Not to mention the defense will be one of the best in the nation and he will be leading them......I think the guys on Sunday will like this...a lot.

Hang in there Aaron...and lead your Defense.

He would only have to play one year after sitting out the season... then he could go pro the same year he was always going to. The rule only states you have to be three years removed from High School.
BUT Its not going to happen anyway. So i don't wanna discuss the possibilities. He WILL be leading the Irish Defense

... you don't even know what "this" is. It's all speculation at this point as to why he even had to miss the practice.

  • I have a feeling this will not turn out well...Lynch seems to have other issues(based on earlier comments) that brought this on...Maybe Mom will get him straightened out....Option 1 makes sense... but in these issues ..sense is not often used...50/50 he is not at ND on Monday..

    Not at all accurate.....

100% chance he's back monday..... Why you ask? Because Mama Lynch says so.....

Have you never played football? This is beyond a common occurrence.... it's call competition and for heated battles, pushing, shoving, smack talk or even a fight/wrestling match to not happen i find more alarming.....

D-linemen need to roll with rage...it's the fire in side that burns to make you great....to play with out it makes you average....
