  • I really hope we can pick up this kid. He might only have 3 stars but he is a great corner with a ton of potential. Should have plenty of spots with the Armsteads probably going elsewhere. Im very happy with this class and I think it will end very very well biggrin

  • I like this kid. When you talk about potential this is it. A real good get for the irish if they can pull it off. Plus his teammate Treadwell is a 5star WR next year. But I really like this kid!

Will Redmond has said he's done with visits for now. UGA has made a string push and tOSU and Hinton were trying to get him and his teammate on campus.

  • I like him, but let's find out what going to happen with Darby, Wright, and Poole before we commit to a lesser CB. If he wants to commit to ND, that's great; he just needs to wait until NSD so the rest of the cards can fall first.

With him not enrolling early, I think that hurts us. If Armond didn't get cleared by USC and doesn't get cleared by us, I think Arik would follow his brother elsewhere (probably to Auburn). If Armond doesn't get cleared by anyone, well, then I like our chances a little bit better if Arik is committing by himself.

As of right now, I think Arik is Irish. That could change the closer we get to NSD and more info is released though.

At this time, I think (and I believe the ND staff feels this way) that you take Standifer if he wants to commit this weekend.

IMO, he's as good of a player as Yuri Wright, who not only struggled on the field his HS SR year, but also at the AA game.

The returns on Standifer at the Semper Fi bowl were solid, and he also had a pretty good showing at the Nike Opening Combine this summer. For me, Standifer/Wright are pretty interchangeable, while Poole and Darby are clearly superior in talent.

Having said that, I think if Poole/Darby wanted to jump on board, the staff would take them and Standifer - the original goal was to land at least 3 cornerbacks in this class.

I'm fairly certain USC isn't an option for Armond, and the family will move on from there after this semester.

The key is whether Armond can get cleared anywhere, because at the moment it appears he hasn't been cleared at ND or Auburn, hence the reason for hte delayed announcement.

ND still has a shot, but all the moving parts have to solved before anyone can make a sound decision, and both parties are mindful of that.
