Honest question. Why would Florida, Wisconsin, or any top tier program decide that Crist is the direction they want to go in? I understand coming out of HS the desire to land him, but there is now a track record of very average performance. Dayne seems like an exceptional young man and I hope he has lots of success in whatever he does, but I just can't understand what others see that I'm missing.

Yes, he has been star-crossed at ND. Would like to see him get a clean re-start somewhere. Maybe at Florida with CW . . . or maybe at Wisconsin a la Russell.
Lou's caveat about the new school needing to have a graduate major not available at ND is rather empty. Big universities all have plenty of curriculum majors not available at Notre Dame. Crist would have no trouble identifying a course of appropriate study for his master's.
I wish him well!
