Freshman Pat Connaughton's success on the hardwood has spilled over into his debut baseball season for the Irish.
I love this guy. He reminds me of a better Gerry McNamara. And he is absolutely correct that he's a better baseball prospect but I hope he sticks around for 3 more years of basketball.
Thanks for sharing Wes. Good for him.

connaughton is special kind of player who plays like a seasoned veteran. I expect big thins out of him and his roundball teammates next season.
By the way, Danny Ainge's son plays for the same AAU basketball squad Connaughton used to play for. Interesting coincidence, eh? Connaughton and Ainge never got a chance to discuss playing both baseball and basketball professionally, however.
Funny that you would write this article yesterday, because my brother and I were talking about him this weekend. My brother is a teacher/football coach at St. John's Prep, and could not say enough great things about Pat. He wrote one of the recommendation letters for him to get into ND. He truly gushed about what a great kid Pat is.

His parents must be proud. Great kid and I look forward to 3 more years of basketball from him. The comparison to Gerry McNamara but better is spot on. Love his competitiveness.
