The pair of you should give the kid a break and enjoy the ride. Its now tasting very old, ducks or no ducks, good catches or not, he is helping us win and be 6-0. I am happy we have him.

I'm very happy that ND is winning no matter who is the QB. My problem is now alot of people on this board are on the Rees bandwagon when last year they wanted the kids scholarship pulled. I have major issues with people who hate a guy oneweek and love him the next. The most popular guy on most teams is the back up QB. I would have no faith in Rees at QB against Oklahoma or USC or Boston College for that matter. If ND went 12-0 with Rees or 6-6 with Rees I would still say the kid is a MAC QB at best.

Go Irish !!!!
At least you are consistent, I do agree with your second and third sentences above.
For some reason i feel comfortable this season when he comes in. I have no problem so far with how it has played out with him.
Two time Poster of The Week, 2011 and 2013.
I know much has been made of this "closer" role. Which is frighteningly apt to describe.
Think about how rare it is for a closer to get a WIN. Sure, the good ones PROTECT a lead(Michigan), but dont often come in when the game is tied(Purdue) and get a WIN, and virtually NEVER come in with a deficit (Stanford) and get a win.
I know the comparison isnt ...like... perfectly parallel, but it isnt all that far off either. We are witnessing one of the most memorable backup QB moments, in the conversation with Frank Reich's accomplishments.
Run the ball.
Stop the run.
You win, or lose, up front.
Well to be honest I feel the same as when Joe Montana had the ball last. Calm and ready to celebrate. Go figure last year It was like waiting for TR to drive ND toward glory but wait lets to' it instead.
It is impossible to argue with the team success this year that we have had when TR comes into the games, but if you take the time to go back and look at each of his throws in these appearances, he has thrown maybe 2 good passes. The rest have been floaters, ducks, or just not where they were supposed to go. The throw to Eifert to seal the Michigan game was great. I struggle to find another throw that was actually a good throw. I urge all of you to actually look at his QB throws, not just the favorable results the team has seen.
That being said, I am fine with the Kelly is using Rees, but I have no interest in seeing more of him than absolutely necessary.
3 time POTW;
Speak for yourself, please.
Rees scares the begeesus out of me. More than 4 or 5 passes and he is a pick 6 or injured star TE waiting to happen.
Get over it, he has done a tremendous job and Kelly have played the two QB situation to perfection
Ummm...not even comparable. Those guys have fantastic arms and feet. Athletic feet is not the same as necessarily being a great athlete. Big difference, please do your homework.
Tremendous is a bit of a stretch, borderline hyperbole, Dave. Perfection is also a scary word to hear in this current situation. How bout a glass o' reality to go with your punch bowl full of Rees brand koolaid?
To answer the posted question - I feel quite comfortable!
Irish Oak in Chicago
I feel nervous and am very happy we have Golsen. I worry about his week arm and one of those ducks is getting picked he isn't very accurate and can't move well. Because of those issues I think his role is perfect and we are lucky to have him as a backup. He makes quick decisions and reads defense well. So he comes in after watching the game and having a good idea what to do. He executes and we move on thanks to our d. Tommy has his role but we are 6-0 due to our D. That being said Golsen is why we are winning mucho rue than Rees coming in at the end IMHO
Marcus I will absolutely give you my over the top rhetoric but the facts are the facts............we are 6-0 with a new QB and a back up who was scorned by most people on this board. So I give you 6-0 and a plan working about as well as we could have hoped.
This I can agree with. I think Rees is probably a good kid, just trying his best, and is obviously not highly talented. I have only had isues with Kelly playing him in the past, and have second guessed some decisions this year. So far, it has all worked out and Kelly seems to be managing it.
Peace and GO IRISH!!!
Enjoy the win Saturday!
