Good opportunity to scout the oppositition
BEAT scUM!!!!! (and everyone else)
Turns out BYU can run the option. Great......
7-0 BYU. That was nice pass by Nelson
Their Freshman QB looks pretty solid. These guys are going to be tough
Not sure you're going to get an accurate feel against a bad WSU team. Lots of flags so far and a bunch of talking after the play.
BYU looks solid. Definitely well prepared for this game.

Their QB is not a FR. I watched him last year after he took over for the FR Heaps against Utah St. BYU was getting beat pretty badly. He led them to a come from behind victory and cost me money. BYU was favored in that game and I thought I had picked a good sleeper in Utah St. Of all the games that "most" expect us to win this one scares me and is the one I have us losing. Hopefully I am wrong, but this will be a battle for us..
Good news is that Washington States defense is really bad, and they're not catching any breaks (literally). Meanwhile our defense should be really good along with an offense that isn't undergoing major changes.
I am actually a little unimpressed by BYU's showing this game, despite the final score. First game of the season, I know. But their O-line was pretty terrible all night, and the fact that Wash St. was unable to capitalize just shows they suck even more. Sloppy blocking by the RBs and TEs as well.
I could see ND's front 7 having a field day against BYU. But who knows.
Not Nelson. Tayson Hill.
Washington State is bad, real bad. I think they won 4 games last year, they might be lucky to get back to that. Leach will need 2-3 years to get his guys in before they will actually compete with mediocre teams.
That said BYU will be a very tough game, if we were playing at Lavell I'd put it up there with MSU as our 3rd toughest game, but being at home should give us an advantage. Good to see them win, I like the program and SOS is a plus.
I wasn't that impressed with BYU's defense. The WSU quarterback was terrible.
I also don't see how Nelson will make it to the ND game if he continues to take hits like he did in this game. He reminded me of a more athletic Kellen Moore. Obviously, they're both left-handed, but I don't think I saw a really strong arm, but he did seem to have great accuracy on the short and intermediate stuff.
Hall has been on a two year mission. He is 21! Like most BYU players he will be done w/his eligibility at age 24-25.
Who is Hall?
Paul Wulff took over WSU when they were as down as a college team can be. Got them to where they were competitive, but not enough W's. I felt bad for him until I read that he is on the 49er's staff. Good for him. Good man. Lost his wife to cancer, as I recall, and fought on.
You know there is no "fighting on" going on in here right ?? I kid..
That said, BYU looked focused, physical, and crisp. I think our boys will look the same, with much more talent and poise than WSU had last night. It's going to be a tough matchup -- it would be a mistake to overlook them
