Notice how Brey's thirteen years of not performing in the NCAA Tournament
I'm buying some of it and indeed, overall, N.D.'s sports teams have performed quite admirably. I don't think there was much doubt about getting back to the tourney when all five starters are back, you're getting a heralded transfer, and a ranked recruiting class coming in.
How many of those 17 teams that have been to 4 straight NCAA's have as little to show for it as we do. How many have lost to teams consistently seeded well under them, sometimes in embarassing fashion.
I don't think it is too much for a small but passionate fan base to ask why is this program becoming stagnant, and what are the powers in charge going to do about it.

Most of ND's teams were in position to excel prior to Saavy Jack's arrival.
Swarbrick handled the football team well belatedly, but totally screwed the pooch by giving
Brey a ten year contract extension.
Swarbrick now joins that bumbling AD Kevin White in the Fools Inner Circle.
A ten year extension Indeed, there should be a firing squad for such incompetence.
Swarbrick's job is to address the bottom line, which encompasses not only dollars and cents, but academics and image. How is getting rid of Brey going to improve any of that, unless you hire on the cheap, and hope for the best? Swarbrick hired Kelly, and the football program provided a financial bonanza. Tell me again how Swarbrick is screwing up. Just because you, I and a handful of the few who actually give a crap about ND basketball think it should be more than it is doesn't mean that it will necessarily be worth the investment to do what it takes to make the team competitive at the level we'd like to see it. Make that case, then come back and hang Swarbrick out to dry.
I may not be pretty, but I'm fast.....

Thanks for adding so much.
