No, I don't feel this game will have an impact on Notre Dame's 2013 recruiting class.
The Irish finished the regular season undefeated and played for a national title -- with the highest graduation rate in the country.
Does it help in the efforts of a recruit like Eddie Vanderdoes who has Notre Dame and Alabama in his top five? No, but that doesn't mean the program will be out. All the more important for the staff to get him to campus.

Haha wasn't going to ask the question myself, but I do believe you are a mind reader as this was going to be brought up.

It wont be asked.... by anyone with half a brain...looking forward to your updates jason as we finish the recruiting season...nice work
Thanks Jason for your perspective. If this class decided to choose ND because it is a 40 year decision then I think the class will stay together. If we have defectors because we lost a football game, they were looking for a way out anyway. The reality is that we need more athleticism at LB/Safety and more size/strength on the OL/DL. I see oportunity for this recruiting class.
If this class, and any individual recruit we're still pursuing, has the kind of character we want at ND, they will look at that game and say, it will be different when I (we) get there.
I may not be pretty, but I'm fast.....

I must admit that I have not yet gotten my brain around what happened last
night. I will say I am 1000% thankful for an excellent year, and as measured by
non-Domers(i.e. AP and Coaches), we are, respectively, 4 and 3, unqualifiedly,
in BK's third year, the best Notre Dame team since 1993. Period. But, as I reflect,
I know that I will have other thoughts to post, as I am sure will many of our
As to Vanderdoes, the perpetual "Irish" in me harkens back to our recruitment
of Manti---a senior day loss to a pitiful Syracuse team in the snow, with the students
throwing snowballs at the team. Yet, Manti came to ND and, so, maybe Vanderdoes
That reminds me---we may be a long way from where we all want to be but, painful
as it is, I'll I will take last night over that miserable Syracuse day not too long ago when the
spirit of ND was perhaps at its nadir.
Let me quote Kelly right now. If losing one game loses you a recruit, you never had him and you probably don't want him anyway.
Kelly's pitch will likely be, "We were good enough to get there, but not good enough to win. I need players like you to get the crystal ball next time."
This isn't a math test, passion has a funny of trumping logic.
Thinking exact same thing dc! Gives Kelly a good pitch for kids on the fence ...
