CBS Sports released its current projections for next year's bowl season this morning and they've got the Irish heading back to Miami.
Notre Dame, with the first at-large pick in the BCS process, will land in the Orange Bowl against Florida State, according to CBS's best guess. Their national title game is Alabama v. Ohio State.
CBSSports.com provides College Football bowl coverage, including news, scores, injuries, facts, schedules, stats and more.
The projection have Stanford pegged as a fellow BCS team and nine other Irish opponents in 2013 going to a bowl. They are:
The only teams not on that list are Temple and USC.
I would think USC could go 7-6 against this schedule to qualify for a bowl (they should start 4-0 ). Either it was an honest oversight, or there is just not a lot of trust in Lane Kiffin turning it our around while on the hottest seat this year.
2013 USC FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
Aug. 29 (Th.) -- at Hawaii
Sept. 7 -- Washington State
Sept. 14 -- Boston College
Sept. 21 -- Utah State
Sept. 28 -- at Arizona State
Oct. 10 (Th.) -- Arizona
Oct. 19 -- at Notre Dame
Oct. 26 -- Utah (Trojan Family Weekend)
Nov. 1 (Fr.) -- at Oregon State
Nov. 9 -- at California
Nov. 16 -- Stanford (Homecoming/Reunion Weekend)
Nov. 23 -- at Colorado
Nov. 30 -- UCLA
I dont think Lane Kiffen is on the hot seat. I think they'll give the guy a probation free year to get back up to 85.
Wash St could give Mike Leach his first road upset @ USC...usually, teams make the biggest stride under their new coach in year two.
I'll be surprised if Clemson & Tajh Boyd don't win the ACC over FSU who is breaking in a new QB.
My luck w/the Irish 20-6...GO IRISH!!!
My picks would be
Bama - SEC
OSU - BIG
Oregon - PAC
OU - Big12
Clemson - ACC
Louisville - American
The latter, methinks.
USC will probably get to a bowl; if for no other reason than dumb luck. But every program suffers their periodic times wandering the big time college football wilderness - and don't we know it. Right now, USC is lost amongst the trees. Much to their dismay (and our schadenfreude), the man holding the compass is Lane Kiffin.
Here's to many, many more years of a beaten and bruised condom astride a tepid "damn white horse."
I would sign up for this now. We need to consistently start being in the top tier bowls.
Two time Poster of The Week, 2011 and 2013.
crazy how good AL is, they probably will be in the NC game. Not buying anything from Jimbo @ FSU. ND will be right there.
No down-vote please - thank you!
No down-vote por favor, gracias !

amigo el número cuatro
Or USC could lose seven: ASU, AU, ND, OSU, Cal, Stanford, UCLA.
