Here's this week's cover. It didn't go well for Collin Klein last week.
Wasn't ND/Te'o on the cover earlier this year?
I don't believe in no stinkin' jinxes!
It did not do anything the first time. Go Irish!
so was NIX, although it was a small pic on the top corner.
Te'o has been pretty good since that cover went out, maybe putting a player who has been suffering the effects of a concussion for the past few weeks wasn’t the best thing in world. If ND was playing any other team I would say this isn’t good but USC guaranteed ND's focus with the "they quit" comments from last year.
Covers, books, any other superstition you can point too has nothing to do with the game and I really think this is the complete game we have been waiting for…over 15 yards on a return Book IT!
But it was during the bye week!
It was actually Riddick that was on the corner pic.
Dan, do you know if that is a national cover or another regional one like Manti's was?
My luck w/the Irish 20-6...GO IRISH!!!
Wow I want a poster of that...
I saw it online and it was nix unless they changed the print one to be riddick. I know i am goofy but besides messing up a 6 or a 9 it hard to confuse riddick and Nix...... NIX IS A BIG BOY
MMM you are right just check.
When does that hit the bookstores. I let my subscroption expire
SI says Notre Dame miracle. It's not a miracle the lads earned it! There is no jinx it's all nonsense. The lads believe in themselves and the program and that's all they need! Go Irish!
I love that pic.
Going to use it as my new signature picture.
I think it helps that no one individual is on the cover. I think that elevates that players ego and therein lies the "jinx".
He is too level-headed for that crap.
What an incredible young man.

simm - National cover...first one since Stovall in '02. The Te'o one earlier this year was regional, as was the one in '05 with Quinn, Zibby on the cover.
CMC - Director of Apparel Operations
POTW - a couple of times, can't remember the exact dates
We Are ND 76,
Tony Rice was actually the one on the cover all three times in '88, the first after the Miami game, the second after the USC regular season finale, and then the Fiesta Bowl victory. So actually, there was no game the week after USC or West Virginia.
The last three times I recall ND being on the SI cover and losing the next week were: 1993 after FSU (BC), Vagas Ferguson's 1979 cover against MIchigan (lost at Purdue the next week) and Tom Clements in 1974 (lost to Purdue at home the next week as a 28-point favorite).
I also recall in 1975 that QB Rick Slager was on the cover after starting 2-0 — and the next week while trailing 7-0 against Northwester, he got knocked out of the game with an injury. A sophomore named Joe Montana stepped in and directed a 31-7 win.
Agreed, Go Irish!
