Of course, if he were to be named Pope, there could be a scheduling conflict. I'm going to go out on a limb and say he won't.
Catholic News, Opinions, and Faith Formation
What a coup! He will be a fascinating speaker, especially after the conclave.
If he is pope he still has to come!
no way this guys the next pope, too young. the vatican only selects someone with one foot already in ther grave, and that's a shame. the church badly needs someone younger with a fresher perspective of what/where/how the church needs to be. still stuck in the dark ages......

Um John Paul II was 58 when elected Pope . If you looking for new age religion ,,women priests or gay marriage there are plenty of alternatives out there.
agree with Clancy. The rules regarding married priests, men only priests, etc were man's interpretation of how the church should be structured. In fact, for hundreds of years priests could be married and the current rule was put in effect around 1000 - 1100. Finally, with the priest abuse scandal of the most recent past, we have perfect examples of man's flaws and terrible decision making. So, it makes me doubt some of the decisions made by church leaders over the past 2000 years. Jesus only left two key instructions, love God and love your neighbor. Most everything else is man's interpretation of the best way to follow those commands. Debating those rules doesn't make one a follower of a new age religion.
