Pretty crazy numbers here from Brian Hamilton of the Chicago Tribune. Notre Dame's tax forms from 2011 revealed that Charlie Weis received more than $2 million from the university in 2011. Kelly made $1.08 million from the school directly, although that doesn't include money he is allowed to make through various endorsement deals.
The article said Weis is on pace to make $19 million for his buyout by the time all is said and done.

I understand that some of those endorsements -- for example, Adidas -- are very substantial and can essentially be considered University dollars. For example, these payments don't continue when you get canned - even if you have years left on your contract.
