ND players are at home and bama is still practicing ? Is there a limit on practices before the NC. I read where bama was only taking 3 days off for Christmas. I think we are taking 6. Is this because our players are more spread out or what? Just curious
I don't know but I assume there is a limit on the total practices you can have. I believe we began bowl practice before they did, right? I definitely remember hearing Bama fans explain why it was ok that they weren't practicing and we were (I think the argument was that their players will be more relaxed, lol).

I think there are 15 total practices for the Bowl game. ND had exams one week and did not practice. The teams could probably schedule them as would be beneficial for each. Remember, ND had 6 weeks from the USC game to the Bowl game. That's 42 days. Obviously there were going to be more down days than official practice days.
There is no limit as it relates to the number of practices for bowl games. The only rules are the same as during the season, 4 hours a day/20 hours a week. ND started practice last week and Alabama didn't start practices till this week, so i think it will all even out in the end.
Don't worry, they could practice 24/7 but it's not going to help.
2 time POTW winner on some dates I can't remember from 2yrs ago at BNG,
POTW: 1/3/11- 1/9/11, 6/20/11-6/26/11
jonesjs_scsa is correct. There has been some myths spread over the years that the NCAA allows only 15 bowl practices, but you can practice as many days as you want. It just so happens ND will practice 15 times.
• Dec. 7 and 8 and 11 (Finals were held Dec. 10-14), so the 11th was optional.
• Dec. 14, 16, 18, 20 and 21. The team left yesterday for Christmas break and will return Dec. 27.
• Dec. 28-31 (These begin the game-specific practices for Alabama).
• New Year's Day is off, Jan. 2 is the team arrival in Miami. And then Jan. 3-4-5 is like a regular season work week, with the 6th a walk-through prior to the game the next day.
