After three rounds of the NFL draft I have arrived at a few conclusions....
1 the draft is pretty much unwatchable unless you are a NFL fanatic..
2 if the "experts" were right the first 32 players take will end up in the HOF...they are frequently wrong just like the rest of us
3 Alabama had 4 players go in the first 2 rounds...our Irish had 2 ..it's hard to extrapolate that out but maybe that's the talent difference between the two programs that existed on January 7th...but not now
4 Brian Kelly is not only a developer of players..see Manti and Tyler...but he is near the very top of his profession..see 12-1 season which based on draft results indicates to me we are ahead of schedule
CITY OF CHAMPYINZ!!!!!!
BK and his staff are gonna put a bunch of quality players and people in the NFL.
Just to update this thread, Alabama is now up to 8 players (8th drafted as I was typing this...) and we're still at 2. I think we'll have 3 drafted, maybe 4 if we're lucky.
And even with all these players drafted, Bama returns 13 starters. I know the talent and depth stuff has been talked about to death by now, but it really is amazing to see it backed up in numbers like this and wasn't just commentator hot air. That being said, I think these next few drafts, next year's in particular, will see some Bama/LSU-like numbers for our Irish.
This is a GREAT thread. I was wondering and thinking the same thing. CBK has done an amazing job....

Well we are now up to 5(eifert, teo, slaughter, riddick and kappy). Still time for Cave, Motta and Wood to go. Not bad at all.
Now Motta to Atlanta so that's 6.
Very happy to be wrong with my 4. Pleasantly surprised at KLM and Slaughter--though their injuries would (wrongly) keep them out of it.
I agree that the draft is unwatchable. It is better to look back and judge the results, then to watch the time drag and the talking heads drone on.
“Notre Dame? Relevant? Of course. Call me in 90 years, and I’ll give you the same answer.” Neal Pilson, former president of CBS Sports
The top-5 teams with most drafted were Florida State (11), Alabama, LSU and Florida tied for second with nine apiece, and Georgia was fifth with eight.
It's a Southern game right now.
