Lou, not even close. The Sugar Bowl was simply the best followed closely by the '71 Cotton Bowl defeat of UT. Even Bryant acknowledged that in his post-game comments which I'm certain pained him to do so.

73 Sugar Bowl Game was a classic. As a kid watching that game with the family as it went back and forth, we were all exhausted when the game finally ended. That game for me always brings back the best ND moments.
I was at both games. My vote is for 88. That was not a football game. It was a street fight with a football thrown in to make it legal. Notre Dame defeated a demon that day. The hatred in the stadium was palpable. Steve Walsh felt it and talked about it afterward. If ND had not won that day and undressed the big, bad bully, Miami might still be undefeated. Every other game was just a game but if I had to vote for one of those, I'd vote for 1966.
