I took a peek at this just to see if the names George Atkinson, Amir Carlisle or DaVaris Daniels might be on it. They weren't, but there are four ND opponents in 2013 who did appear.
We already know who the big names in college football are heading into the 2013 season. Players like Johnny Manziel, Jadeveon Clowney, A.J. McCarron, Marqise Lee and Aaron Murray will be the focus of much of the preseason hype. And rightfully so, as they've proven themselves on the field time and time again.
I TRY to read these lists and check my ND bias at the door but I had a difficult time accepting 4 of those quarterbacks without thinking that Golson could easily be put in their place based on the explanations written in that article. I guess I'll accept Hogan from Stanford and MAYBE Bell but Frazier and Gardner..........I just don't see. I think Washington St will start seeing the Leach effect so I'd definitely put Halliday on that list.
Pretty standard preseason hype for ND's opponents. Last year ND had 4 Heisman candidates on the schedule in Jones, Denard, Barkley and Bell. ND shut down 3 of them and Barkley didn't play.
I think the Heisman Pundit was missing Everett Golson who's numbers are going to explode as they trust him with even more of the offense and as the diversity of the offensive weapons start to emerge.
We Are ND76,
I was thinking the same thing about Golson, but I guess because he passed for more than 2,000 yards and run for 298 in 11 starts, he did have his breakout already. Does he get to a 3,000 passing, 400-500 rushing level with a relatively healthy season? That would put a lot on him, but eventually that might be the plan.
