2 time POTW winner on some dates I can't remember from 2yrs ago at BNG,
POTW: 1/3/11- 1/9/11, 6/20/11-6/26/11
Staff will be up in the box in the early afternoon and can provide some feedback on this, but the grounds crew was pretty active last week in between quarters getting the divots filled in.
Per Brian Hamilton of Chicago Tribune: Tommy Rees is starting today.
I am really worried about todays game. We need to be ready, i hope this isn't the trap game everybody seems to be calling it.

I'm sure there is no way for you to know but I have to ask your opinion. Could this be a situation where BK is using the concussion as an excuse to start Tommy without creating a controversy?
I like Golson and know he is learning, but still hasn't been able to read defenses well. TR is closing out games and probably needs more practice if he is to get significant minutes against Oklahoma.
Personally, I feel it gives Golson another week to recover instead of putting him right back into the fire merely a week after suffering a concussion. Sure he passed the tests, but that's quite a hit to bounce back from -- particularly at quarterback with the "mental" demands of the position.

I'm betting on a lot of two tight end sets and a heavy dose of running today. Bet we see Atkinson a lot.
I think Golson needs to see a significant amount of playing time this week to prepare him for next week. BYU has a pretty good defense and that would help him prepare for OU.
If it is Rees, then I really hope to see some Hendrix running the qb read. With his size and solid speed he could be a real threat, especially with Wood and Atckinson as solid threats that Byu must respect.

Watching QBs warm up now. Golson is in full pads, but took snaps from Mike Golic, Jr. Rees took snaps from Braxston Cave.
How's the weather?
Jason this seems like the smart play to me. If he were to take another hit this week then we may not see Golson for the rest of the season.

Great weather without a storm cloud in sight.
Official: Tommy Rees will start for Notre Dame at quarterback.
Notre Dame wins the toss and elects to receive.
The field a little bit more worn down on the north side of the field from the overtime battle, but overall decent shape after all of the rain.
The field looks like my yard - splotchy. That rain last week took a toll.
