I may have missed someone posting this or it being discussed somewhere but here is an article from a couple days ago per Sporting News.
In it, a case is made is to how Alabama has a chance to jump one of the undefeateds (ND>KSU>Oregon) should one of the three undefeateds lose.
Now, I understand it is a small chance but how is this even remotely possible with the type of "schedules" these teams will have played. This SEC obsession is beyond understanding at this point.
I, like most, am in the camp of the let the chips fall and we'll see where we stand at seasons end. I also think the way ND has struggled to "Wow" people has hurt them in the eyes of the media, fans, and coaches. My concern is how this theory of 1-Loss Bamae is going to blow up over the course of the next few weeks because there is such a desperate attempt to not have ND in the BCS title game that it almost feels like collusion. Suddenly, we have gone from needing to win our own games and let one of the two in front lose, to now worrying about a 1-loss SEC team entering the mix.
They just spent a few minutes talking about it on Mike and Mike and this is how these type of things start. Those who love the SEC will piggyback this thing until seasons end.
It's a joke.
Easy answer...they can't! Alabama will never jump an undefeated team (especially with a 1 loss and a 2 loss team to close out their season). The human voters -- not to mention the computers -- would never let it happen. Sadly, I do feel like 2 of the 3 undefeateds fall and Alabama lucks its way into an NC again.
Regardless, I'm calling it right now...Oregon loses a game before the end of all this. It could be as soon as this weekend against a very tough and, most importantly, physical Stanford team. If nothing else, Stanford bangs them up more so that Oregon State and USC/UCLA can finish them off.
I say ND just chills and let's the other shoe drop naturally. Focus on Wake then USC...let's go IRISH!
I don't think it's a likely scenario. We have a comfortable lead in the BCS polls from Bama and if someone in front of us loses we'll stay ahead in the human polls.

Two voters in the AP had Alabama 3rd, ND 4th. Very unlikely it happens, but people are doing it.
BTW, the two voters were from Arkansas and West Virginia. Not the most educated states.

My luck w/the Irish 20-6...GO IRISH!!!
