Last year the popular pick was BYU because it came between the huge showdowns between Stanford and Oklahoma. Indeed the Cougars held a 14-7 lead before losing in the fourth quarter at ND, 17-14.
This year the popular choice is probably going to be the Oct. 5 game in Arlington, Texas versus ASU in the Shamrock Series. That is between the home games versus Oklahoma and USC, but the Sun Devils also bring back quite a bit of talent from last year's 8-5 team under first-year coach Todd Graham, who beat the Irish when he was at Tulsa in 2010 and then lost only 15-12 when he was at Pitt in 2011.
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Todd Graham is perturbed. Heads may roll. It's just a matter of time before Twitter will light up about the new crisis at Arizona Stat
If we didn't have a bye the week after the game in Dallas, I might be inclined to agree. ASU plays Stanford, Oregon and USC in the month of September before playing us, so we will know what they are made of by the time we line up against them. Also remember, we have won every Shamrock Series game by at least 21 points.
My luck w/the Irish 20-6...GO IRISH!!!
Would it really be an upset? I don't think so.
I want to go to that game so bad. Hope it'll happen.

Of course it would be an upset especially if we win out Sept . We will be rated somewhere in the top 5, probably 3rd or so. We would have won 16 straight regular season games if that happens. Even if we were to stumble once before that game it would be considered an upset if we were to loose.

Definitely a game I'm worried about. Par for the course though is the Michigan game.
I graduated from Arizona State and Todd Graham's hire was the first time I felt good about the direction of program. ASU has been a joke of a program for a long time (with the exception of destroying USC 2 years ago).
Notre Dame will beat ASU with ease in Dallas, TX.
PItt on the road is the game that I'm looking to the most.
