Tommy Rees the #1 QB and John Goodman the #1 WR...is this a bad dream?

This battle will go into the summer and Goodman's opinion in April means little. That said, if Rees does start, we will do no better than 8-4 or 7-5 with the schedule and the program will take a serious step back as will Kelly. He has to know that. You cannot win championships at this level with Tommy Rees as your QB. His arm is suspect and he has zero mobility both of which are essential in this offense. This is not hating on Rees but just my opinion. I would much prefer to see a progressing young QB with all the tools go 8-4 or better with this schedule. Then, come 2013, we are a BCS contender.

It's a potential nightmare!
First thing, whoever gives the team the best shot to win should play. Whoever the coaches decide. Goodman's opinion makes for a wonderful april storyline. But means nothing. As does his opinion in september. Players play they don't handicap starting qb derbys. Bk and his staff are the only people that I will listen to in this case.
Tommy may well have improved, but we have seen what he brings to the table in a competitive game when the other team plans for him. It is not pretty. Also, why should we put any stock into what Goodman, the Tommy Rees of the WR corps, is predicting? If either of them play siginificant minutes we are doomed, because that means our young talent is unable to pass players who have already proven they are not game changers at the Division I level. I will absolutely be rooting for both of them if they are on the field, but I will limit expectations if they become our sole "weapons" on offense.

I think the spring game will answer alot of these questions. While I was not a fan of Rees last year and called for his head many times, I do know that players evolve and can improve. Lets see how he plays in the spring game.
LOL...Goodman making that statement didn't help endear himself to fans that were already questioning why he got a 5th year!
I would like a pepperoni pizza (thin crust) and a sixer of Oberon. Thanks.
