I think the Kiel transfer is all on Kelly. I'm still clueless why CBK kept the kid off the plane to USC. The one thing that sticks out in my mind is that Kelly never had to had any primadonna type as Cincy of CMU so he doesn't understand the special attention they need.
Not sure why Lynch is in here. I too was confused about Kiel not being on the plane but don't really care that much.
But one thing to remember, Kelly while never had to deal with a "primadonna" as you say, he's also went to a national title game without either of them as well.
I think there are primadonna's on every team actually though. I know there are on ND's current team and he's handled them well.
This isn't a math test, passion has a funny of trumping logic.
just stop with this trash man! Gunner saw the writing on the wall, the timing is bad but he was behind a guy with 3 years left who took a team to a National Championship Game, i dont blame him for leaving. Also, big deal, he kept him off the plane because school officialss were coming on to see ND wrap up their 1st NCG spot in a long time, Kiel was a RS freshman with less then zero chance of playing, he was the lowest man on the totem pole, stop coming up with dumb ways to take shots at CBK, get a life.
also, it doesnt look like we missed Lynch for a second, that was addition by subtraction.
kiel's not facing hs competition anymore. someone should sit him down and explain that to him......
Run the ball.
Stop the run.
You win, or lose, up front.
I cannot understand why anyone would speculate with regard to why Gunner did not go to SC. Unless you are in the locker room and on the practice field, it is not possible to know whether Gunner earned the trip or not. Alternatively, he might have done something that kept him off the plane. Why speculate?
“Notre Dame? Relevant? Of course. Call me in 90 years, and I’ll give you the same answer.” Neal Pilson, former president of CBS Sports
there's no need to speculate at all or make things up (maybe gunner did something). CBK came right out and said there are only X amount of seats on the plane and adminsitrators were coming to the game, a 4th string rs fr qb with zero chance to play will always be the first person to lose his seat. get over it.
I can't understand how you can possibly reach the conclusion that
the "Kiel transfer is on BK." According to everyone in the loop, Brian
Kelly told Kiel he would have "every opportunity" to beat out Everett
for No.1 this spring. Rather than take up the challenge, Gunner
quit the team. He did not, for example, participate in spring practice,
see where the cards fell, ascertained whether he had been given
a "fair shot" and, then after the Blue-Gold game, make his decison.
And, in terms of his ability to consummate a transfer, waiting until the
end of April would have in no way hurt his opportunities.
Based on these facts, the Kiel transfer is squarely on Kiel.
Moreover, is your comment that BK "doesn't know how to
deal with primadonnas" a euphemism that Kelly should have
said: "Gunner, no matter how you practice, you're my No.1
for four years and I won't recruit another qb until you are in
your final year here." Is that the kind of coddling you want?
And, Lynch? He quit Notre Dame to play in front of his girlfriend
in south Florida. And, somehow, that's Kelly's fault?
I am absolutely, totally in favor of the right and freedom of
all board members to post what they want but, if you want
to be taken seriously, please be in the ball park of reality.
It does help one's perspective.

Lynch has got to want to punch himself in the face on a daily basis.....probably the worst decision of all time....
LET'S GET IT ON!!!!!
hemy, its easy, he just doesnt like CBK, even on the first day os spring practice he needs to be negative, its an unfortunate way to be.
hahah it def wasnt the best decision ever.
I didn't realize we had another troll on the boards. Oh well, not all fans can be good ones, I suppose.
3 time POTW;
There isn't room on this team for whiners and 18 year olds that act like a ten year old when he doesn't get his way. The kid doesn't have the scrote to stick around and compete for the starting position.
