This survey was taken at the end of February by Athlon
Ohio State takes top spot in Athlon's national football/basketball coach tandem rankings.
i definitly think UF is too low and 'bama too high, Saban is the best but grant hasnt proven enough to be carried that far.
Immediate thought is Bama is not good enough in basketball to warrant #4, nor are we to warrant #5. I would say Louisville should be #4 if not higher, they are the only school right now good at both sports. And let's not forget their women's BBall beat Baylor and made the final 4.
Where would Kelly/McGraw rank? #1
Osu Florida and Louisville 1 2 and 3
Nd I think is in the right place at 5
I think MSU is rated too low. I respect Dantonio and Izzo is as good as any coach.
“Notre Dame? Relevant? Of course. Call me in 90 years, and I’ll give you the same answer.” Neal Pilson, former president of CBS Sports
I agree with NDIrish2. Meyer/Motta, Muschamp/Donovan, Strong/Pitino have to be top three. Also, as Dillon said D'Antonio and Izzo deserve to be higher.
Gringo Mafia Director of Recruiting Analysis // POTW --> 5-16-11 / 5-30-11 / 3-5-12 / 12-30-12 / 2-24-13 / 9-1-13 / 9-22-13
I agree with this, UF is too low and Bama is too high. I also think Michigan is too high, the jury is still out on Hoke. I am not convinced he is a good coach at all. Good recruiter, yes. Good coach? Not convinced yet.
Playing the weakest non-conference schedule pads Brey's career numbers,
his post season performance indicates his pathetic record.
The survey is pure Balderdash.
I personally think you guys are giving Muschamp. WAY too much credit.

Attended: Michigan @ ND 2010 Southern Cal @ ND 2011 Stanford @ ND 2012 BCS National Title Game vs. Alabama-Jan 7, 2013 ND @ Air Force 2013
ND's football coach was Coach of the Year, this past year, and its basketball coach was Coach of the Year, the prior one. Anybody else able to match that?
I may not be pretty, but I'm fast.....
POTW 1/31/11 - 2/6/11
one of those awards means nothing because one of the coaches chokes when it matters most, constantly....
No down-vote please - thank you!
No down-vote por favor, gracias !

Double K, you know I'm not a Brey fan, either, but he didn't win that award because the voters are fond of turtlenecks. He earned that award because of that team's regular season accomplishment. It's not a lifetime achievement award. If you can't recognize an obvious accomplishment, then it dilutes your criticism of the shortcomings.
