The fish is starting to stink!! 2 top RB's this week? What type of payout this time?? Mark it down, this low life will get busted again. I love when schools think that a guy will change eg. Sampson at IU, when they 'change environments'!! This guy needs to be out of college coaching PERIOD!!
The more disturbing part of this wretched program is that less than 2 years after being sanctioned by the NCAA for major violations they are considered a favorite to win the National Championship. Now I personally believe the team is wildly overrated but it is still offensive to the spirit of the game that a team like this should be in the discussion for a championship. We need to drop these frauds big time this November.
I'm no fan of Lane, but just because he landed 2 stud RBs doesn't mean he's up to no good. The depth at RB at USC is not what it use to be. In fact they may take 3 RBs this class, and the third will be a stud too.
Sanctions or not, USC will be an attractive place for kids to go as long as they keep winning.
I agree. This does not smell of foul play. I thought Kiffin was a snake oil salesman who left me shaking my head as he got big job after big job. But he is doing well there. And SC is just a more attractive place to play given their on field success in recent years. If ND wants to get the guys they are getting, Kelly needs to win the type of ballgame they have won this year(ND, Oregon in Oregon, UCLA, Stanford pushed to OT)
How is it that landing a couple of RB's qualifies for these accusations? Don't get me wrong, I can't stand Kiffen, but accusations like this just make ND fans look petty.
Irish Oak in Chicago
No the truth is ND does not have a powder puff schedule like USC does.. Let's see.. New mex arizona state Utah Oregon then Loser loser loser hard game..
See the thing about other teams schedules are that they don't have to go 10-2/11-1 they just have to win one big game a year to win their conf. And they get a top 5 rating because everyone is doing what they are doing and they aren't ranked against anyone that has a tough record.
Just so tired of hearing about SC this and OU that, their schedules are by far the easiest of any "hard" conf. and they get better treatment in the polls because of the way they are perceived
Put sc or any of those teams through our schedule, they will have to fight every week every practice and it will wear on them. They just can't roll over some lame team every week and prepare for the hard one 2 weeks from then. Every week is a rivally game for THE OTHER TEAM, it's a little different when team don't roll over for you because of what they hear on espn and see in the polls. They will fight to the last down because it's their coaches "super bowl" to always to have wanted beat ND. No coach lives their life wanting to play in LA and bear SC.. So their is no passion going into a game like sc.. Just another game.. ND is nouch every coach wants.. No one cares about besting sc
Busted perhaps, but what does it mean?Nothing really happens to these slugs,so why not cheat. Is there anything more absurd than Kentucky basketball? They are a minor league team for the NBA.,and no one cares..
If you have proof I'll gladly listen

NDNJ96: Overrated ? Where would you get that idea ? Probably, the top QB in the country. 3 great, superfast receivers. A tremendous offensive line. I believe that they will average in the mid 30's to 40's in offensive points next year. I wish ND could be that overrated.
I don't hate USC and I think that any ND fan who hates USC does not understand the history of ND football. The same is true of USC fans who hate ND. ND vs. USC is one of the premiere rivalries in college football, even when one of the teams is mediocre, which seems to be happening way too often. But when both teams are in the top 10 or 5, there is nothing like it in the country. Rivalries like that are not created by one team. They are created by both teams and their fans.
When Rockne and ND were struggling to put together a big time schedule, it was Michigan who tried to keep ND down and USC that stepped to the plate creating a rivalry that vastly advanced both programs. Any ND fan knows what the USC rivalry has done for ND. Just think of the players ND has been able to recruit out of California.
But ND virtually made USC a national name. When OU set the consecutive win record, the record it broke was held by the University of Washington. But with all of its success, Udub has never approached the national reputation of USC because they did not have that rivalry with ND. And if you don’t know it, Washington has been a very rich school for a very long time, the Michigan of the west coast.
ND and USC thrive when they are both good. When they are both good, the team that wins that game has a great shot at the national title.
Ya wanna hate somebody. Hate Michigan. Michigant to ND is like England to Ireland. Easy to hate. Important never to forget. But not USC. And not Michigan State. And ya gotta love Navy.
As for Kiffen, I hope Hayden can keep him straight, that he builds USC into a national power, and that USC provides ND with a clear path to the National Championship. Without checking the record, I would guess that most if not every ND national champion has beat a very good USC team.
