Well it certainly has been a tough week hasn't it. After getting our butts handed to us on Monday night we learn early Wednesday afternoon that Kelly has spoken with the Eagles and there is legitimate interest.
Instead of taking this as a compliment, many of us came to this board and started freaking. We all acted like 15 year old boys, and I've met 15 year old boys who have behaved better.
Like it or not, Brian Kelly does NOT owe us anything. Not a single thing. He doesn't owe us his honesty, he doesn't owe us his time, he doesn't need to show us respect. If he chooses to speak the truth, if he chooses not to waste our time, and if he chooses to treat his family 1st, the University 2nd, and his players 3rd the respect they deserve that is all that matters.
Can you name one player, other than AA who jumped ship? Can you name one player who went on Twitter, Facebook, or whatever and freaked out? Maybe, just maybe we can take a step back and realize that Kelly doesn't have to answer to the fans.
The Eagles asked for permission to talk to Kelly, and received it. The University knew about it. Like it or not, JS did not end up sending a BlueAndGold/TOS/Irisheyes-AllUsers email to warn us that Kelly was looking and all would be good.
Like it or not, Kelly can choose to go on vacation with his family and not be constantly connected to the world. Like it or not, Kelly can choose to continue to graduate 98% of his players on a regular basis.
Like it or not, we all have our opinion and we can choose who to disagree with and who to agree with. But please, understand this...Nobody will gain respect from me and many others on this board when their only goal is to stir the pot and bring others down.
We are a Notre Dame Family, and whether we like it or not, we better start acting like it.
