Saw a stat on Twitter(iirc) that every year that there was a Triple Crown winner that ND has finished in the Top 10. Can you confirm this stat so us ND fans know how hard we have to cheer for I'll Have Another??

We Are ND 76,
I've done this feature several times over the years.
There have been 11 Triple Crown winners in history, and the Notre Dame football program is an amazing 97-8-5 in those years, and never finished outside the AP Top 10 too. Four of the last five winners since 1943 resulted in national titles, most recently Seattle Slew in 1977 and Secretariat in 1973.
Eight of the 11 won a national title, finished unbeaten or both. I'll update this and break down the year by year the Friday before the Triple Crown race next Saturday.
That is why Lou is the man in ND history. You should go on Jeporday Lou
I knew he was the man to verify that stat. Thanks Lou!
We Are ND76,
When Secretariat won the Triple Crown in 1973, the announcers kept saying it was the first time in 25 years. I remembered ND was unbeaten in 1948, so I thought maybe it was a good omen. Then I saw the previous one prior to 1946 also was a national title (1946), and the one before that (1943), and the one before ...
Then when Seattle Slew did it in 1977, by then I was thinking, "Well, that clinches it."
Shades of a desperate mind now in desperate times. I'm searching for anything at this point.
Lets hope we have a triple crown winner next saturday, lol.

Yes, let's hope
I want the horse to win it reguardless because I have never seen one in my lifetime.
Do the horses HAVE to be 3 years old or can it vary?
