Down 16, and have gone the last 12:42 without a field goal. I don't think I've ever seen any team shoot that poorly. Foul shooting is bad. They aren't even hitting 50% of their lay-ins.
I may not be pretty, but I'm fast.....
POTW 1/31/11 - 2/6/11
They suck. Scott Martin big time sucks. This is the worst thing I have ever watched and that includes 2nd grade girls CYO basketball. It's worse than last night. Kind of feels like reality.
Well, Louisville is running players in and out. They look 3 steps quicker and fresher than nd. This basketball team typically peaks right after the halfway point in the season. The postseason blah has become tiresome, kind of like Cooley, grant, and Atkins legs. This is becoming too predictable.
It's hard to watch these guys, they don't take the shots they should, but take the terrible shots.

Yep. They changed. Way for the worst. This is going to be ugly but ND needs to save face and fast.
This is a dumpster fire
Gosh guys how long does it take to realize that this isn't one of those 3-point-attempt game! Didn't we learn after the 4-31 disaster a couple weeks ago?...if you're not hot then stop trying. Work the ball in and get some penetration!
They're running at least a half second behind Louisville on nearly every play. I'd like to blame it on tired legs, but this is Louisville's third game in three nights, and last night's was an end-to-end horse race. I think they got in ND's head with those steals early on. The other factor is Pitino. His teams are almost always tough in March. Brey's? Rarely.
Of course hitting 7% from beyond the arc doesn't help either.
you can try to break it down any way you like, tired legs, getting into nd's
head, not playing well at MSG. i'll make it pretty simple, nd does not have the athletes
It's that time of year.
That's true, Newman, but it's also true in at least half the games ND won in the Big East this year, including the one over Louisville in Freedom Hall. The Irish shot 12% from beyond the arc, and 52% from the line, both well below their season's average. Most of those threes were uncontested, and certainly the foul shots were. Those parts weren't Louisville's athleticism. That's just having a crappy night. They hit a shooting slump in the St. John's game, and really haven't worked their way out of it.
And now is the time for perspective...
...because if anyone said 2 months ago that we'd lose in the BE semis and be a lock for the big dance, I would've been pumped
BS. Didn't ND have the athletes in feb. why is it always in march
for the most part, nd is a one dimensional team. if the jump shots
are not falling, this team is in a world of trouble. having more athletic
players would provide more options on the offensive and defensive ends
of the court. this would allow nd to survive just having a crappy night.
Yep, I'm with you on that, Newman.
There's no question this season was a major overachievement. I think most of us are just wishing that one of these years, they could save their hot streak for March.
The trick is to keep expectations low. I hope somehow we end up with a seed of 10+ in the tournament. I honestly think we'd have a better shot of making the second weekend if we weren't even expected to win the first game. These kids play loose when they think they have nothing to lose.
Because teams turn it up a notch in March and we can never find that nextra gear.
My luck w/the Irish 20-6...GO IRISH!!!
I'm pretty sure no matter what seed we get, we will not be favored.
