Louisville is putting the finishing touches on a quarterfinals victory over Villanova right now. Georgetown beat Cincinnati 62-43 and Syracuse topped Pittsburgh 62-59 earlier in the day.
The Irish take on Marquette (probably around 9:45 p.m.) on ESPN for the final semifinal spot. Hang out here for conversation throughout the game.

Tomorrow's semifinal match-ups:
No. 5 seed Syracuse vs. No. 1 seed Georgetown (7 p.m. on ESPN)
No. 2 seed Louisville vs. No. 6 Notre Dame/No. 3 Marquette (9 p.m. on ESPN)
Hard to see this not coming down to a Louisville-Georgetown final.
I may not be pretty, but I'm fast.....
POTW 1/31/11 - 2/6/11
Irish in a 7-0 hole two minutes into the game. Cadougan with five points for Marquette.
Could they play any worse offensively? I don't think so. They've had three nice steals on the defensive end and nothing to show for it.
2-10 shooting, 0-4 from long distance thus far...missed layups galore.
not much of a shocker here.

Was the timeout called before Buzz Williams went ballistic congratulating his guys for the charge? That was ridiculous. If not, should have been a technical.
2-16 from the field...0-6 from long distance.
Total garbage. Pathetic.
Yes, it should have been a technical.
The way the Irish have played offensively these first 8 minutes is Exhibit #1 why so many seats are empty at Purcell. They could come back and win this game, but you still won't be able to erase how horrid they have looked at the outset. Air balls, missed lay-ups, missed put backs. Nearly at the halfway point, and they have 4 points. I blame the uniforms.
Irish getting outrebounded 11-4 so far, according to ESPN stats.
Maybe that charge will fire Cooley up.
As poorly as they've played, they can still make a game of this. Marquette is not that good. The Irish are getting the looks, but they haven't taken advantage. Keep it within eight by half time, and they're still alive.
As an aside, I know Beidscheid has potential, and lots of folks here like his game, but if he's got a good stroke, it rarely leaves practice.
Irish go on a 17-7 run and are now down just 22-21. Looks like Connaughton's touch from last night is still intact from 3-point range.
Looks like another Jekyll and Hyde performance for the Irish.
Now it's Sherman's turn to have a good game (so far). Irish take the lead for the first time after a couple buckets from him and a nice defensive possession by the senior.
Some fan just got kicked out of the game. Pink shirt was a good choice. He was allowed to keep his beer.
Must have said something nasty, have gone to the tourney many times (hope to be there tomorrow with some ND buds) and you need to threaten someone to get booted.
Brey said it perfectly -- defense and rebounding. Marquette has been spinning its wheels with the ball, and the Irish energy carries over to the offensive end. An entirely different look from their lethargy at the beginning. Which personality shows up in the second half? It looks like this is one of those games when Sherman has a decided advantage over his defender. Keep working it to him.
ND shot 11-of-30 (36.7 percent) from the field and 2-of-10 from 3-point land
Knight went 3-of-4 for team-high 8 pts
Connaughton went 2-of-4 from 3-point range for 6 its
Grant 7 pts
Sherman 3-of-5 for 6 points
Marquette was 11-of-22 (50 percent) from the field and 1-of-1 from deep
Cadougan led with seven points
Irish were outrebounded 16-10
Marquette 11 turnovers, ND 5 turnovers
I joined at 17-4 Marquette. All I saw was a brick wall man coverage and Sherman manipulating 2-3 defenders and still making fades. However, Cooley sometimes doesn't even jump for a rebound, something is seriously has been wrong with him for a while.
