Round 4 just began and there are a number of former Notre Dame players hoping to either hear their names called today or begin free-agent talks. Jonas Gray just texted me and is optimistic he'll be selected after all the RBs that were chosen in the first three rounds.
R.J. Blanton, Darius Fleming and Ethan Johnson all said they would be in touch with me today. Johnson, who has been pretty secretive about why he didn't participate in Notre Dame's Pro Day on April 3, texted: "I'm very excited to start my NFL career today!"
Taylor Dever, Trevor Robinson and Gary Gray are among the players still waiting to learn their fate. Kicker David Ruffer expects to sign with a team as a free agent. I'll be doing a feature story on him in the days to come. He's in an interesting position, having turned down two great job opportunities in the Boston area to pursue a career in the NFL.
Good Luck to all of the former Irish players. I really hope someone takes a chance at Jonas, before the injury he was a lock to get drafted. Go Irish Go.
Have to root for all these kids to get their names called, but can't help but root a little harder for a kid like Jonas Gray.
Best of luck to all of them as there aren't many moments that compare to a player seeing his name flash across the bottom of the screen as the newest pick in the draft.

whoever takes Jonas got a great pick he is a total package back. Perfect mix of speed and power.
And low mileage. Teams love that. Hopefully he'll get drafted
Blanton to the Vikes. Congrats!
beat me to it.

Minnesota is rapidly becoming the largest Notre Dame alumni club in the country, haha. Just talked to Blanton, he has to speak with someone with the Vikings now and is calling me back. Check back soon for an update.
As a Bear fan my goodness; Stop it Vikes! I am very happy to see the guys we have been rooting for 4+ years get their shot in the League.

Updated with quotes from Blanton:
Robert Blanton latest Irish product to land in Minnesota. The projected safety was chosen in fifth round by the Vikings.
