Is it just me or does he have zero personality? Good thing they win and he has good assistants because I think I'd fall asleep mid-sentence with him.
Gringo Mafia Director of Recruiting Analysis // POTW --> 5-16-11 / 5-30-11 / 3-5-12 / 12-30-12 / 2-24-13 / 9-1-13 / 9-22-13
The only time he has shown emotion in his life is briefly after winning the nation championship. So, 4 times in his life he was something other than completely stoic.
I wouldn't call his ingame sideline rants exactly stoic. He is an intense competitor that can really coach. And I am a huge irish fan and also think bk is a very good coach.
Who are the three best coaches in the game? Saban, Belicheck and Harbaugh. Among the three of them, you don't have the personality of a barn owl.
I may not be pretty, but I'm fast.....
POTW 1/31/11 - 2/6/11
Actually, I found him quite interesting to listen to during the conference in Miami, talking about his childhood and what a perfectionist his father was while running a service station, and needing to wash a car exactly right or having to do it over.
I didn't know Frank Leahy personally, but he was often criticized for being not as personable as Knute Rockne and constantly absorbed in thought and the next task at hand. That's what helps make Saban such a great coach too. Both were intense men who wonderfully articulated their thoughts when the moment was right for them.
Disagree Ham. Harbaugh has quite the personality...of a 6 year old. His antics are anything but stoic.
As for Saban and Bellicheck, well, I'd rather read posts by merlin than listen to either of those men speak.
3 time POTW;
Well, no disagreement for on-the-field or post-press conference personality of Harbaugh. If anything, you do a disservice to six year olds. Saban is no prize on the field either, at times, but then Brian Kelly has taken his share of heat for that, as well. I tried to sort that out from their more "normal" personalities in regular interviews. The three of them are blah. Kelly, on the other hand, comes across as someone with a pulse and a personality.
Very true...although I give Harbaugh some credit for his "Turkey; Gobble gobble" quote. Also any man who looks at Pete Carroll and says "what's your deal?" in response to being asked the exact same question by Carroll is somewhat of a hero in my book.
I agree he is also very rude to the media and always complaining about something. He was complaining about up-tempo spread offense when it looked like a Oregon /Bama matchup. Now he is complaing about the way the recruits are committing.
And I'm still getting downvoted by some troll. Goodness.. I can't say anything anymore. Haha.
Win championships and I'll overlook the personality of a door knob.
Good point. Harbaugh's most redeeming quality, IMHO, is his attitude and approach toward Carroll.
Well, that would still be an improvement over the above-mentioned.
This is one of the best things a coach has ever said
