Brian Kelly will open spring practice on Tuesday, March 19, with a press conference.
The team begins practice at 8 a.m. the next morning. They will practice each week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday except for Easter weekend.
The Spring game is scheduled for April 20 at 1 p.m.
Media will get a chance to see parts of five practices during the next month.
It also looks like we'll be able to speak with assistant coaches, something that was done away with during the regular season last year.
The Saturday, April 13 practice, the one with the Coaches Clinic, will be open in its entirety. That's the only one that traditionally is. The other four practices where it is open from 8-8:30 (mainly warm-ups) will be March 20, April 3, April 8 and April 12.
The assistants were available last spring, too. My guess is during the regular season Kelly doesn't want them available to avoid potential distractions. Coordinators Diaco and Martin were made available once during the bye week.
Fireworks just went off in my head.....Pitchers and Catchers? Phooey!
SPRING FOOTBALL BABY!!!
LET'S GET IT ON!!!!!
