Atkins fouled on a drive, has a chance to cut deficit to three points with 7:36 to go.
A couple of Biedscheid foul shots makes it a 59-57 SJ lead with 5:35 to play.
SJ isn't comfortable working the clock, leads to turnover and a Grant layup. Game tied at 59-59 with 5:02 left on the clock.
Showing some life!! Nice hustle by Connaughton and Knight on that stand and beautiful transition offense with Atkins and Grant...
High floater off the glass by Atkins regains the lead for ND, 61-59.
Harrison drains a 3-pointer from New Jersey to give SJ a 64-63 lead with 1:59 to go.
Atkins heads-up play to call timeout after grabbling loose ball on SJ's end.
Knight and Connaughton blocked on back-to-back possessions. SJ has the ball with 7.6 seconds remaining and a 65-63 lead.
why wasnt Cooley in the game late i confused cant lose games like this so aggravating
Game over. SJ wins 67-63. A lot of questions for Brey after this one.
It is simply amazing how inept this team can be in tight games over the years. Wes, you are right, lots of questions. This is a bad loss. If this keeps up we won't have to worry about if this team can advance in the tourney unless its the NIT. Maybe im overreacting but when ND has high expectations in basketball it just seems to be inept in handling it.

I don't think you're overreacting. This was an inexcusable loss.
Who is the leader for this team? Nobody getting them fired up. Is Coach Brey instructing them to be completely emotionless during games???
It's like the whole team is hopped up on beta blockers...
When Notre Dame departs the Big East, I can't imagine it will miss playing in Madison Square Garden, even though it is a basketball mecca. More bad, disheartening or even crushing losses in that arena since joining the Big East in1995 than probably any other arena — with Louisville's old Freedom Hall (remember all the neutral site games with Kentucky?) the main competition.
Mike Brey just told UND.com that Tom Knight will be the first big man off the bench on Saturday against Rutgers. He sounded extremely frustrated and the interview only lasted two minutes. I'm sure the boys got an earful in that locker room.
What a pathetic performance. Cooley was sleeping during the limited time he played. Martin just goes with his flow. Sometimes it's just not enough. No offensive production. Cam fired up shots outside the offense. Atkins was decent, Grant was touch and go. Some good, mostly bad.
Another classic Brey production. No expectations and we play like Hercules. High expectations and we look like Sally in a dress.

Thanks Wes, like i stated, just an awful loss. All aspects from the coaching down to the players was terrible. For an experienced bunch this is not good.
