Checking in with a few of the prospects to see what their plans are for this weekend.
-- OLB Romeo Okwara and RB KeiVarae Russell told me they can't make it.
-- S John Turner tells me he'll be there as did S Elijah Shumate. Turner said he believe WR Chris Brown will be in town as well.
-- 2013 Irish commit Mike McGlinchey told me he's talking with his parents to see if he'll be able to make it.

Why aren't there any more prospects from this years class coming to the game? I would think that the Blue and Gold game results in a few commits
This is just a very early list. We'll be adding to it as the week goes on.
As expected, RB Will Mahone will be in town as well.
Okay thanks what about jaylon smith? I saw that Michigan had many top prospects at their spring game like Kendal fuller. Why aren't there any top prospects coming to our game?
I read that Anzalone is going to OSU's spring game instead of ours. Not sure if that's true or, if it's true, what it means. I'd like to think he just wants to go there because it's a shorter trip, but that's probably just wishful thinking.
Davonte Neal won't be able to make it because he has prom that day.
LB Jaylon Smith reports that he won't be able to attend Notre Dame's spring game because he has a 7on tourney in Pittsburgh.

WR Chris Brown confirmed that he'll be in town.
S Nicky Baratti, however, can't make it to the spring game.
Really dissappointing list so far.....
Just want to emphasize this is an early list ... it only notes the prospects that have confirmed with us that they'll be here.
We'll see how it grows this week as prospects decide which games they'll be going to, etc.
Talked about the recruiting calendar and how having bigger names on campus is becoming more common for junior days and spring practices instead of waiting until the spring game on the radio show this week.
Former s segment: Recruiting.
IF Anzalone is going to O$U's, that's a bad sign IMO.. If that's the case, I would almost be willing to cross him off the list.

I'm glad Shumate is going to make it. I think he can be a key contributor very early for us.
Listen to Jason...it is an early list. Official visits are more important. Curtail the hand wringing. Ulcers are bad.
While I would certainly like to get recruits to everything we have available, I do find an interesting trend in these threads. If someone comes to a ND main event (Junior Day, Spring Game, etc.) they are maybe interested and may possibly commit - and then may possibly stay committed until NSD. But if they go to a spring game, junior day, etc., elsewhere it's a forgone conclusion that they are gone forever.
I recognize that getting them to our main events is good. But it's only a positive sign, not a commitment. And them going elsewhere is a negative sign, but likewise, not a commitment to the other school. I don't expect anyone to do the research (I'm not going to do it), but it would be mildly interesting to see how many of our commits in the last several years were at our spring game. Because if not at ours, they were most likely at someone else's - but they still came to ND.
No need to worry about Jaylon Smith not coming to our spring game. He said no to OSU also, he just wants to play in that 7on tourney. no biggy
And as reported by Bucknuts.com this AM (after first getting the report before the weekend), Anzalone will be at Ohio State on Saturday.
Link to story:
LS Scott Daly told me he'll also be in town for the spring game.
DL Jarron Jones tells me that he won't be able to attend Notre Dame's spring game, which is why he was in town this weekend instead.
Jaylon Smith a 5 star prospect wants to go play and compete rather than sit and watch a scrimmage? You have to like that.
So far it is a poor showing for the BG game
S C.J. Prosise tells me he'll also be making the trip out for the spring game.
2013 OLB target Doug Randolph won't be able to make it.
DE Elijah Daniel told me at the Best of the Midwest Combine in Indy that he wanted to attend Notre Dame's spring game, but he reported to Steve Wiltfong that he'll be at Tennessee's.
OT Ronnie Stanley said he won't be able to make it to Notre Dame this weekend.
OBL Romeo Okwara let me know that OT Mark Harrell does plan on being at Notre Dame for the Blue-Gold Game.
As reported earlier in the thread, Okwara won't be able to make it back to town this weekend.
Four-star target with interest added to the list linked in the original post.
WR Justin Ferguson's father, Jason, let me know that they won't be able to make it to the spring game on Saturday.
