didn't we lose the game?
I'm just admittedly bitter :-(
"Vacation" is another way of saying off Campus until this gets done.
No one can talk to recruits right now, so Saban would be violating NCAA rules if he was doing any hard work.
I texted my buddies the same thing. Thats the difference between Saban and Kelly. Saban wins his second national championship in a row, celebrates for two days, and is back to work holding a team meeting focusing on next season. Meanwhile, Kelly interviews for an NFL job and then takes a vacation. Look, I'm not saying he hasn't earned it. It was a tough long emotional season. But to go interview, then for lack of better words disappear, and leave recruits, players, your assistant coaches, and the school wondering what the hell is going on and if they will still have a head coach in a few days is kinda messed up. Meanwhile, in Tuscaloosa, its back to work...Frustrating!
How can I put this...F Saban!

Saban makes $9 million a year and gets anything he asks for provided it is legal.
Kelly is fighting to at least compete with that.
Your problem should be with the ND Administration. Not Kelly.
I seriously doubt Saban works 363 day a year. He's a tool.
Wow this is just sad. Kelly, his staff, and the team had to fight for every inch they got this season. I'm sure they are all exhausted emotionally and physically. Saban had an easier time of it. Not saying an easy time, or he doesnt work hard, but it is what it is. He has more talent and depth than anyone in the country. His team is at the top of their game, they are used to the big show, used to winning where as ND is still in the learning process of how to be great. They took major steps this year, but still have a way to go. To gripe that Kelly took a vacaton is a joke.
And if you really believe he hasnt been in contact with his coaches and the school, you are naive!
Not saying Kelly has handled this well at all but you are coparing him to coach that has every advantage he could possiably have. Saban has one of the top motivational speakes in the country Dr Kevin Elko come in regualry and talk to the football team keepng them focused. His staff is well compensated he dosent have to worry about getting boarderline players in. I d say he has more power than the A.D. So back to work he goes he knows why he has all that power it drives him.
A thread suggesting our coach doesn't work hard enough? wow, just wow.
12-1, played for NC after 15 years of being a golden-domed joke and you feel bitter? wow, just wow.
I offically admit to not understanding people
My thoughts exactly!! We just finished one the best, if not the best, regular seasons EVER in ND history and now our coach doesn't work hard because he hasn't issued a statement in 4 days?? WOW

Saban's job at UA is not nearly as complex as Kelly's at ND.
I cannot imagine the pressure Kelly has lived with 24/7 since late July.
The season is over - recruiting is almost finished. Its is dead period - and he steps out of the national glare for a few days to negotiate some critical issues for the future of ND football.
I call that sanity.

guys - this might be the biggest turning point for ND since Lou Holtz was hired. Of course Kelly did a great job this year, but now he is on the verge of destroying all the momentum we didn't have for 20 years. This hurts recruiting today and tomorrow, and starting over with a new coach may put a halt on our LEGIT return to glory. Even if he stays at ND, this will hurt us because recruits for the next few years will wonder "when" (with help from other schools' coaches)
