Meaning, what players from this recruiting cycle will see the field for any significant amount of time or role?
My sleeper picks are as follows:
OFFENSE- 1.Hunter Bivins @ Center he is very versatile and showed his worth during the Under Armour game week
2. Mike Heuerman in the 2/3 TE set, the fact that he is an EE will help with his development tremendously and he is a great athlete in the mode of Eifert with great hands.
3 James Onwualu, he has that Golden Tate all around ability factor all though not quite as fast but maybe stronger. He has M. Floyd in his ear stressing to him what its gonna take for him to be successful playing for Coach Kelly.
DEFENSE- 1. Devin Butler - has great size , ball skills, and very fluid he, is not a project at all. Kind of flew under the radar until he balled out at the Semper Fidelis All-Star game week. Oh yea! and he is from DC , DC area athletes play with a chip on their shoulder
2. Mike Deebs because he is physically ready to play the college game right now, and he is a classic 'Mike Backer"
Gringo Mafia Director of Recruiting Analysis // POTW --> 5-16-11 / 5-30-11 / 3-5-12 / 12-30-12 / 2-24-13 / 9-1-13 / 9-22-13
This isn't a math test, passion has a funny of trumping logic.
Hopefully some of the better athletes will be on the special teams immediately.
Not necessarily calling him a sleeper but I believe Deeb will grow into an exceptional Mike LB. Anzalone was a great talent but I think Deeb will be a better backer. I think Jaylon starts day 1!
According to everything I read, Will Fuller was far and away the best receiver, if not the best offensive player period, at the Semper Fidelis All American Bowl. 3-star WR? Yeah, that would be a sleeper ...
