Bishop Gorman running back Nate Starks, a target for Notre Dame's 2014 recruiting class, was dismissed from school Monday for violating school rules and won't play for the Gaels in the fall.
Starks is the No. 1 rated player in Nevada, the fifth-best athlete and the 48th overall player in the 2014 Composite recruiting rankings. He comes from the same school as current Irish lineman Ronnie Stanley.

Notre Dame knew that something was happening here and remain in touch with Starks. We'll see what develops moving forward.
National Recruiting Analyst
Everyone slow down. Let's not go CNN/Boston Marathon on this before we know actual facts. Let Steve, Dan and the others do their jobs because they're going to be accurate as opposed to fast or, even worse, flat out wrong.
I won't believe what I read on a message board until it's confirmed.
Looks like a Private school transfer needs to sit out a year in Nevada so he can't play anywhere in Nevada next year. I bet he winds up moving in with a cousin somewhere instead.
Not something i expected to here. do we know if it was academic such as cheating or more in the lines of drug/alcohol use?
Zackly. Gotta sit back and let it simmer for a while. We may never know the whole story, regardless, nor will it be our business. I hope the young man can get the wheels back on the tracks, and make good decisions going forward.
I may not be pretty, but I'm fast.....
POTW 1/31/11 - 2/6/11
Hope it's nothing too big. Still really want this kid.

I'd actually bet he ends up at a Lower Level Pac 12 School (Washington or Colorado) or in the MW.

We don't even know what happened and some of us are already condemning him to the lower levels of conferences? What happened if he got into a fight and it was self defense, or he was accused doing something he didn't actually do?
We don't know the facts, or have the slightest idea of what is going on. I hope he ends up at Notre Dame still.

bob stoops will take him. he loves guys like that from nevada (chaisson)
Screw Washington, Colorado, and Bob Stoops. I want him at NOTRE DAME!
whoa! staff ..?
my post has been dropped from this thread...
is this a new policy?
at some point the individual has to be held responsible for his/her own actions.
Run the ball.
Stop the run.
You win, or lose, up front.
Remember, this is all happening in Nevada, where they have different rules and laws and unusual procedures
for enforcement and non-enforcement.
Here's the big whopper: Prostitution is illegal in Clark County. Hah!!
Believe that and I'll sell you a time-share "just off the Strip."
But the cops are vicious in cracking down on those scum-of-the-earth types who jaywalk.
And for all their libertarianism, here's the fastest way to get tossed from a casino:
Count cards playing black jack. In other words if you're smart and know math and have some discipline, you are persona non grata in a casino!
Here's the bottom line-mistake or not, either Nathan Starks is an RKG or he's not. He will get more tolerance if he or his coach built them into the possibility of the issue ahead of time. That's Kelly's law.
@Nate_Starks I screwed up. But that doesnt change the player I am or the person i've put myself out there to be...
The kid is acknowledging that he did something pretty bad. Also, the Pacman guy who first mentioned the notion of drugs in this thread might very well know the situation intimately...if it's the same Pacman then he calls into ISD's Power Hour all the time and is a cop around Las Vegas (I believe...).
good info thanks for sharing the insight
let's wait and see - kid in my town got caught smoking a cigarette on school property and was expelled. This may sound like a bigger issue with Starks, but we are all human and make mistakes.....it's what he does after that counts
For those of you who are telling this kid good luck in the SEC, shame on you. You don't know what happened. I still want him unless it was a serious crime. Get off your high horses and wait and find out what happened first. Just a reminder.... Lou Holtz got some kids into ND that wouldn't be accepted at ND now.
