On the BCS show Herbstreit agreed with Pollock and Palmer that ND would be on the outside looking in. If it comes down to an undefeated Irish or Ducks. They were saying Notre Dame's strenghth of schedule said its not as tough as once thought. Oregon has a championship game most likely against USC. I dont buy their arguement if ND and Oregon are undefeated that would mean Stanford has at least 3 losses and if USC plays in Pac 12 championship they will have 4 losses so where is Oregons big win Arkansas St , Fresno St or Tenn Tech.
I saw the same show...great response!
One time POTW winner.
So rarely happens that I will wait until we're undefeated and not playing in the NC before I worry too much about our SOS. Didn't Lou say something about how your SOS never looks as good when you beat everyone?

POTW for 12/4/06 & 10/18/10
I disagree with their assessment also; if we're both undefeated it will mean that we will have beaten the same two big teams they have (Stanford, USC) as well as Oklahoma and an otherwise much tougher schedule than Oregon's. So our strength of schedule, however weak it looks relative to how it did before, should be a lot higher than theirs.
The real issue is the human polls, and if Oregon doesn't lose it will be hard to pass them there, and that could ultimately determine our fate.
For what it's worth, I heard other media figureheads say after the Stanford game that ND could be in the title game even with one loss based on the schedule. It's just to week-by-week to make any solid judgments yet.
Great post. I agree if ND beats Oklahoma as another tough opponent, but Oregon will play Oregon State as well, which is currently 8 in the BCS.
No down-vote please - thank you!
No down-vote por favor, gracias !

They will play Stanford or USC twice. Oregon State once.
I think it won't really matter though. I really don't think the SEC comes through this without very team having at least 1 loss. They'll beat themselves out of contention. It comes down to K State, Oregon, and ND staying undefeated.
BYU first though.
