Lou - Assuming Tebow doesn't get signed and heads to sportscasting, when was the last Heisman winner that you can recall left the NFL after only 3 years?
Jason White and Eric Crouch come to mind.
sullik2 nailed it. Jason White (2003) is one of only three Heisman winners never to be drafted. The others were Army's Pete Dawkins (1958) and Florida State's Charlie Ward (1993) — who said he wouldn't play in the NFL unless he was drafted in the first round. Of course, he could call the shots because he was a first-round pick in the NBA, too. Dawkins opted for a career in the military.
Crouch did spend four years in the NFL, but it was strictly on the practice team and he never played. He did play a couple of seasons in the Canadian League with Toronto.
